Having spent much of the last ten years swimming in the sea with Eastbourne Sea Swimmers, Holly Manktelow is training to swim across the English Channel in order to raise much needed funds for The Youth Counselling Project.  Holly was inspired to raise funds for the local charity because:

they have a presence in the 4 local primary schools. The charity is run by volunteers who give up their valuable time and energy to help and support students.

When my Uncle suggested that I should swim the channel a few years ago, my first response was ‘that’s a very long way, have you got the right woman?’ However after thinking about it my opinion quickly changed to ‘why not? What a cool adventure!’

Pictured right, training with her support boat, Holly is working intensively to prepare for an attempt in August 2022.

Holly is well on the way to raising her ambitious target of £1,000 from generous donations.  You can support her on Just Giving and help us to provide much needed mental health support to children in the local community.

All of the volunteers at The Youth Counselling Project wish her the very best of luck with her adventure
