Digital Detox Week
This week, 14th – 18th July, is ‘Digital Detox Week’ at the Seaford schools, which gives the students the opportunity to leave their phones behind for a week. This will hopefully lead to them being less reliant on them and will help them avoid the mental health issues that can arise from using their phones. The money raised from this will come to The Youth Counselling Project. We are most grateful to the local schools for this.
Bob Ellis, Headteacher at Seaford Head School. says
“The final week of term is also our Digital Detox week and it’s lovely that the Headteachers from the four Seaford primary schools agreed to be involved. This makes it a genuine community initiative and it will be interesting to see what impact it has on individual’s moods and well-being. Although involvement is voluntary and school rules will not be changed for the week, we will be following up with student voice to assess impact. We will also be taking the opportunity to raise money for the Youth Counselling Project who do so much to support Seaford’s young people with everyone being asked to donate £1.00.”
